Own residential construction projects end to end. You are the contractor of record on the job: the schedule has your name on it, the budget has your name on it, and so does the phone call when something goes wrong.
The work
Stonecreek holds the license and the contract and oversees the project. The trades are subcontracted. The only work we self-perform is the Millwork & Interiors scope, on the parts of a job that call for it. You run the subs, and you direct the roving foremen who move between the jobs that are open.
- Act as contractor of record for residential projects
- Scope the job and let the subcontract packages
- Source, vet and manage subcontractors for every trade on the job
- Direct the roving foremen across the active sites
- Own the project schedule, the budget and the change orders
- Run client communication and site meetings
- Coordinate the Millwork & Interiors scope on the jobs that include it
- Ensure permitting, inspections and code compliance
- Manage closeout and warranty items
Where you work
The office is your base, at the shop in Chugiak, and you are on site as often as the job needs you there. The role is salaried: eight to four-thirty is the shape of the week, and it runs longer when a job needs it to.
What you need
- Residential construction project-management experience
- A general contractor license, or working toward one, as the jurisdiction requires
- Subcontractor sourcing and management
- Budgeting and scheduling
- Strong client communication
- Working knowledge of residential codes and permitting

What the job comes with
The same for every role.
Pay
Hourly or salaried, and each posting says which. Hourly roles get overtime after forty hours. The starting range is on each posting, and where you start in it depends on what you can actually do. Pay is reviewed once a year.
Retirement
A 401(k) with a three percent company match. It starts the first of the month after your first ninety days, for anyone regularly scheduled forty hours a week.
Paid holidays
Six, from your first day: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Vacation and sick leave
Up to 40 hours of paid vacation in your first year, one workweek, accruing each pay period and usable after ninety days. It grows by eight hours after each year you complete, to 80 hours. Up to 40 hours carries forward into the next year; unused vacation is not paid out when you leave. Paid sick leave is its own bank: an hour for every thirty you work, up to 40 hours a year, carried forward on its own. All told, up to three weeks a year, two of vacation at the top of the scale and one of sick leave, plus the six holidays.
Health
We do not offer a company medical, dental or vision plan today. We would rather tell you that on the job posting than have you find it out after you take the job.
Tools and apparel
Shop tools, safety gear and job-specific equipment are ours. Standard work apparel is company-paid, by role.
Reviews are at thirty, sixty and ninety days when you start, then quarterly.
How we hire
A call, a few hours of real work, an answer.
A phone call first, fifteen minutes, about the work and where in the pay range you would start. Then a couple of hours with the team doing something close to the real work. Then an offer or an honest no, within a week either way.
No panel interviews, no personality tests.
